One thing I love about this blog is being able to try out new toys with the kids and bring you our verdict. Today’s offering is the brilliant Barbie Saddle ‘N Ride from Mattel.
Chic in jodhpurs, tan knee boots and a denim waistcoat I could covet myself, clip Barbie’s gloved hand into the tawny horse’s mane and watch her mount. By pushing the button on top of the horse’s brow, Barbie lifts up and sits into the saddle before the horse starts to walk. L and I were amazed by how easily the toy works, literally at the push of a button. Barbie has her usual stylish detail, even complete with pink safety helmet. Plus, the fact that her horse walks for itself means Barbie Saddle ‘N Ride really has the wow factor.
With an RRP of £49.99, I’d say this toy is definitely value for money. A robust product, even a 3 year’s old rough handling of it hasn’t caused any damage. It is quite noisy when walking along, but the novelty of the horse’s movement and Barbie’s mount still hasn’t worn off for my two. Christmas on the cards before we know it, Barbie Saddle ‘N Ride could be your Santa duty sorted.
