5 Best Winter Beauty Buys

CODE VLM Pack v2

Keeping skin protected and covering up dark circles is the name of my beauty game in January. That, and a serious amount of mascara (nothing new there then). From nourishing nail varnish to brightening eye wands, I’ve put together a list of top 5 winter beauty buys, covering old favourites as well as new launches and ones for the wishlist.

CODE VLM Volumising Lengthening Mascara £19.95

A recent addition to my makeup bag, this mascara basically does what it says on the tin. It has 14 key ingredients, but for me it’s always about the brush. Comprising dual length bristles, the wand grips both newly and fully grown lashes.Team with their FFL Forget Fake Lashes Primer for maximum impact; a tinted product which plumps eyelashes as prep for mascara. Somewhat of a mascara snob, I’m officially sold on this magic mascara duo.

Clarins Super Restorative Hand Cream

Clarins Super Restorative Hand Cream £37.50

Their hand cream has long been a cult skincare buy, but Clarins have now also introduced a new Super Restorative Age-Control version. Part of their superb Super Restorative range, I love the serum from this collection in particular. Made to melt into the skin, the anti-ageing formula smoothes, replenishes and revitalises skin. Ideal for this unkind-to-skin weather, I’m already on it with Clarins original Hand and Nail Treatment Cream and may have to add to my collection with this one.

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand £29

A dual-ended tool, Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand contains both eye cream and illuminator. Brightening and concealing, freshen up your under eye area with click 1 and add a luminous look with click 2. Pro-active as well as fool-proof, the eye cream tightens and the illuminator hides a multitude of sins. This is a very recent makeup bag buy for me, and it’s already a firm favourite.

M & S Autograph All in 1 Nail Varnish with Argan Oil £6

There’s nothing like a slick of nail varnish to brighten up a grey day, and this one is nourishing to boot. I got an M&S Autograph All in 1 Nail Varnish with Argan Oil set for Christmas, and I was amazed with the results. Nourishing for winter nails, the polish has a shiny finish which feels far more expensive than it is. A definite budget beauty winner.

Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser with Natural Neroli £39

Rich, nourishing and nutritious, Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser with Natural Neroli works well alongside their bestselling Cleanse & Polish. Suitable for mature or dry skin, the cream works to replenish and rejuvenate. I started using this moisturiser just before Christmas and the results are actually amazing. Due to its collagen boosting ingredients such as pomegranate flower extract, skin is visibly plumped.
