Just before Christmas I was having a bit of a tough time, and my friend Vicki AKA Honest Mum sent me a lush package from Don’t Buy Her Flowers. A company founded as an alternative to sending flowers, particularly for new mum gifts, my thoughtful parcel included a scarf, Red magazine and chocolates.
A really lovely surprise, Vicki had picked that particular package to perk me up while I was poorly. It brightened my day and made me feel loved (and full of yummy chocolate).
Don’t Buy Her Flowers was established by Steph Douglas in 2014 when she found she received more flowers than she had vases after the birth of her babies. Steph says, “It struck me as bonkers that the go-to gift for new mothers is another thing to care for, at a time when someone is doing more caring than they’ve ever done in their life. Our packages are all about the recipient and letting her know she is loved.”
I love the idea of the bespoke bundles, and there are lots of options to choose from. The fact that DBHF was set up by a fab lady aware of sisterly needs says it all. Her Sisterhood Blog is also well worth a visit.
