Summer hair season is almost here, so I’ve teamed up with ghd to bring you their latest trend news.

For SS16, the look reigning supreme on the catwalks was waves; from beachy to flowing to glam. Incorporating the new ghd Azores limited collection, these stunning stylers will transport you to wavy (or straight) hair paradise. Inspired by the exotic Azores islands, there are shimmering stylers available in; Serene Pearl, Atlantic Jade or Marine Allure. Conjuring up summer breezes, cocktails and holiday fun, these straighteners are top of my beauty lust-list.

Always a fan of creating waves with my ghds, it’s a simple style to create and I like to just choose random sections if I’m pushed for time. I curl mine over straightening it at the moment, simply because it takes less effort to look ‘done’. Adding texture, it suits my long hair, but it works well on most lengths and is a totally versatile style.

Here to let us in on a few summer hair style secrets, ghd Global Brand Ambassador Adam Reed shares his top summer waves tips…

This season we are looking at waves that have a soft and modern edge but with a luxe finish.

The beach wave moves away from the stereotypical look of precision. Use the ghd styler to create the foundation and structure of the look and air it out by lifting and shaking the hair to create a fresh and modern finish.

With flowing waves, the key is to not put too much structure into the hair by not over-styling it. Add character to the finish with a soft bend to the ends and lots of movement.

The Deep Waves look is based on a soft and modern wave that is actually quite fresh. Fresh waves and fresh hair were key backstage at fashion week and this is definitely moving into next season. This is a modern take on quite a sixties look – hippy with a fresh and clean twist

The key with these trends is that hair looks conditioned, shiny, luxe but with movement and texture.
