I love getting the Mr involved with style posts, so when Petit Bateau asked us to collaborate it seemed the perfect opportunity.
As well as being a gorgeous childrenswear brand, Petit Bateau deliver menswear and womenswear with the same iconic stylish feel.
A self-confessed stripe obsessive, you can never beat a bit of Breton and Petit Bateau clothing radiates classic, timeless cool. When those chic French designers asked me to pick a favourite, I had to go for the Women’s Iconic Mariniere in Heavy Jersey (£55). I’m seeing this as a staple with shorts or cropped jeans over the next few months. Available in 3 different colour combinations, I love the vibe of the Smoking Blue with Coquille Beige.
You can also choose a variation of the same colours with the Coquille Beige being more prominent, or a summery Ecume White/ Brulant Red version. The heavy jersey provides a flattering fit that smoothes the silhouette and is just really comfy, which is a big bonus in my book.
My other half plumped for this polo neck which is actually unisex, so I may nick it for myself from time to time. Sssh! Mr B is wearing the Adult’s Unisex Wool Polo Neck Jumper (£65.60) and it can be worn as underwear or a stand alone piece. Even though it’s warming up for summer now (hopefully), we live near the coast and chilly days are a frequent occurrence.
Always one for a layer, the light composition of the polo neck is warm enough for winter under a chunky knit, but also cool enough to wear with spring/summer gear. I’m definitely a fan of this look on him.
