December is here and it’s time to talk stocking fillers. A beauty-mad shopper, look no further than my edit of the best hair, nails and makeup buys. Covering favourite brands and new finds alike, I’m confident there’s a little something here for all the ladies in your life.
A comprehensive read with 60 beauty tips, this brilliant book by Dr Olivier Courtin-Clarins offers expert insight from the Managing Director of the Clarins Group. With the earliest part of his career spent helping patients recover from surgery, Dr Courtin-Clarins knows a thing or two about top TLC.
From makeup hints to skincare advice, Doctor, I want to be the fairest of them all! is a perfect present for all ages. Plus, this is a gift full of heart, as all proceeds from the sale go directly to the Arthritis Foundation, a private French organisation helping to enable severe rheumatism research.
Popband hair ties are absolutely brilliant, and the Gingerbread set adds in a little festive sparkle. Wear them in your hair and avoid annoying kinks when untying it, or place around your wrist while your mane is loose. Soft and stretchy, these bands are also excellent for kids’ hair and I regularly use them for my 7 year old’s ponytail.
Available in a few fabulous Christmas designs such as the Christmas Jumper and Santa Baby sets, you’ll find reindeers, red and a serious dose of glitter gorgeousness. I’m currently coveting the star print selection to add to my hair-care collection too.
Brand new from 4th Base Cosmetics, NKDb products have been a recent find for me. I love their 5 Well Eyeshadow Palette, containing triple milled shadow that are a combination of shimmery and matte. Simple to blend or comprising shades you could wear alone, palette picks include; Glamazon, Plum Crazy, Magic Bullet, Moroccan Sand and Undressed.
NKDb display an incredible array of shades, with their blushers boasting 80 tones to choose from. Another great gift, these cost £9.89. Find out more about NKDb by checking out my recent Beauty How To: Party Eyes by NKDb blog.
This sparkly cosmetic bag could easily double up as a party season clutch. Complete with Pink Shimmer lip gloss, you can’t go wrong with a decent dose of Christmas glitter. M&S have some lovely beauty gifts this season, from nail and lip kits to well-known brands to palettes, crackers and more.
Whether you’re shopping for your friend, mum or yourself (is this just me?), there’s festive fun and beauty gifts galore on their site and in Marks & Spencer stores.
I’ve tried several at-home LED lamp kits and can honestly say that Red Carpet Manicure is by far the best. Simply to use, the set includes all you need for a professional-effect manicure and they are easy to remove too. The result is shiny nails, worthy of a pricey salon, but done at home minus appointment effort and regular expense.
The six Christmas shades within RCM’s Its a Luxe Life Collection are (from left to right in above pic): A-Muse Me, Glasses Up, Oh So Posh, Red-y To Party, Star Gazer and Throw Some Glitter On It. Covering sparkly shades, nude and statement red, it is impossible to choose which of these colours I like best. Currently in rotation, I’d seriously recommend Red Carpet Manicure for talon treats.
Clinique are always top of my makeup must-have list, with this box bursting with essentials. The High On Lashes gift features their new boosting Pep-Start eye cream, something that has quickly become an important part of my beauty regime.
A mascara addict, I also really rate the High Impact Mascara in Black and it’s safe to say that no party eye is complete without lashings of eyeliner; in this case, Cream Shaper For Eyes in Black Diamond.
