Revitalising Skincare & Wellbeing Tips by Dr Murad

January and February can feel such dull and dreary months, containing cold days without the promise of Christmas. A firm believer in creating gorgeous skin by looking at the full holistic picture, Dr Murad is on hand with his top skincare and wellbeing tips.

Revitalise your body and mind, taking care of you. Focussing on positive lifestyle tips, hopefully these will help ward off too much winter harshness and enable you to retain a happy and healthy outlook.

If you fancy a new read, I’d also really recommend Conquering Cultural Stress by Dr Murad. A brilliant book he released last year, it features countless ways to approach life with lower levels of cultural stress. By being made aware of what can cause anxiety and potentially affect our mental health, Dr Murad provides the tools to remove yourself from these triggers.

Back to the expert himself, with some skincare advice to get you started…

1.       Get more sleep

Sleep enables the body to reverse everyday free radical damage by replenishing energy, building new cells and repairing connective tissue. Because sleep is an ideal time for cellular renewal and overall repair for the skin and other organs, poor sleep is quite apparent in the complexion.

2.       Don’t Stress!

Combat stress by making time for family, meeting up with friends, or just doing what you enjoy; your mental, physical and emotional health will improve and be reflected on your skin.

3.       You Are What You Eat

Food fuels your body and mind and when eating poor foods, it appears on your skin. Try eating foods that are rich in anti-oxidants, like pomegranates, which help fight free-radical damage.

4.       Begin an Exercise Routine

Take up an activity that you enjoy and will stick with. Exercising regularly nourishes the skin with oxygen while sweating flushes out toxins.

5.      Think of Facials as a Necessity, Not a Luxury

Revitalizing skin, relaxing the mind, and improving your skin’s appearance are all benefits of a good facial. Facials feed the skin with nutrients that provide a boost to the complexion resulting in a radiant look.
