Every once in a while you come across a boutique brand that means something special, and mine is Ancienne Ambiance.
Working together since the beginning of my blogging journey, I love the independent company’s ethos, style and stunning products. They recently launched their brand new eau de parfum range, so I was eager to sample these scents. Currently there are two available; Colonia IX and Colonia VIII. Each priced at £60 for a gorgeous 100ml glass bottle, the beauty buys are presented in stylish Ancienne Ambiance boxes too. Packaging combines opulent purple and gold, inviting you into pure body, skincare and fragrance perfection.
I was kindly gifted the perfumes to wear and offer my thoughts, and can tell you that I’m suitably impressed with both bottles. Colonia IX is a woody, oriental fragrance which blends cedar, sandalwood and patchouli. Creating an exotic perfume, it feels luxurious and elegant. For me, I’m enjoying a spritz before an evening out. The grown-up aroma is heady and vibrant.
Colonia VIII creates a slightly lighter feel, comprising fig, green notes and also a hint of sandalwood. Fresh and almost sweet, the scent is uplifting and revitalising. This one reminds me a little of clean linen and powdery tones. Spring suddenly feels slightly closer, thanks to a hint of Colonia VIII.
For another beauty article I’m currently trialling wellbeing and sleep-inducing products, bathing in the relaxing Rosandalum Rose & Sandalwood Bath & Body Oil (£34) as part of this. The decadent oil infuses your bath with warming scents. Plus, when stepping out of the tub, you can feel the top-to-toe indulgence of oil. Lasting for several hours post-soak, skin is soothed, softened and supremely silky. It’s 9.45 am and I now want to nip off for an AA bath, complete with candles. SO tempting.
