Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector

Brand new to Murad is their MattEffect Blotting Perfector. Already a big fan of the brand, I was sent a press sample to trial, and can tell you; this is fast becoming my favourite Murad product so far.

Ideal for warmer weather and summer holiday skincare, the compact comprises an integral cushion and separate liquid-to-powder formula, for both prepping skin and setting makeup. First things first, I absolutely adore the gorgeous grey and pink detail, immediately drawing you into a spring skincare refresh. As superficial as this may sound, the packaging brightens my makeup bag and my day.

Said compact is made up of marshmallow powder, plus signature Murad soft focus mattifying spheres. Absorbing excess sebum whilst also softening, I particularly like using the MattEffect Blotting Perfector on bare skin to soothe and over foundation for a matte look. It is a great on-the-go beauty buy too, as you can quickly blot and revitalise your makeup.

Pomegranate extract offers antioxidants and a subtle glow, alongside French green clay extract to soak up oil and detoxify. Priced at £32, I’ve found this compact multi-tasker cools skin, due to antimicrobial components, so is helpful for post-workout use as well.

Summer is always a welcome season, but it can play havoc with makeup, meaning foundation and blusher slides off and your complexion looks a little on the greasy side. As someone with dehydrated skin, I look for a matte effect with moisture. Often a difficult combination to get right, Murad have nailed it here.

Creating a glow, infusing skin with antioxidants and ensuring a soft, matte base, I am seriously impressed with their new MattEffect Blotting Perfector. That’s my summer skincare list started, now what’s next?

Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector is available from spas and shops nationwide, including selected John Lewis, House of Fraser and Debenhams department stores. Find out more at
