Father’s Day Gift Edit

Father’s Day fast approaching, I’ve put together a few favourites for gift ideas come Sunday 18th June.

As of June 1st, in-store pop-ups at Manchester, London and Birmingham Selfridges stores are gift wrapping Haig Club Single Grain Scotch whisky bottles in a signature blue metallic packaging. Plus, there is also the option to plump for copper swing tag engraving, if you’re after the full VIP Father’s Day experience.

Alternatively, a bottle of Haig Club (£49 / 70cl) or Haig Club Clubman (£25 / 70cl) from a nearby supermarket/ off licence will most definitely seal the dad day deal also. We were kindly sent a bottle of Haig Club Clubman to sample, and I can tell you it is delicious and completely different to your usual whisky. Whether your man prefers straight whisky or with a mixer, I’d suggest you get in on the action too. A light and quite sweet whisky, I particularly like it stirred into bitter lemon. Plus, summer nights mean cocktail times and this drink lends itself to lots of different taster options.

The chic blue bottle sits nicely on any shelf, and I’d say some Haig Club equals stylish Father’s Day bonus points. Always drink responsibly, etc etc. Hangovers are zero fun, with or without little ones.

The Mr and I are both big fans of FOREO, so for a skincare buy you can do no wrong with their Cleanser for Men (£25). Presented in a sleek black bottle, he can use this skin wonder alongside a Foreo facial cleansing brush for optimum effect. A refreshing gel cleanser, the product soothes and brightens skin whilst removing impurities.

Containing hydrothermal minerals, skin is nourished while toxins are removed. Also ideal to protect against pollution damage and as an anti-ageing buy, since discovering FOREO products last year they have become his and hers faves in our house.

To be totally transparent, I can’t rave enough about the FOREO LUNA facial cleansing brush, with it transforming my morning and evening skincare routine. Should you be looking to rejuvenate your regime too, have a read of my review in the link above.

Onto haircare, with Fish Platinum releasing a new product recently- Fishfibre Pliable Fibre (£5.99). Available at Fish Soho online and Boots, the matt-effect styling fibre can be applied to dry or towel-dried hair.

Designed to make hair look thicker, it will become part of their grooming arsenal.  My Mr tried some and reports back that it is best on shorter hair, adding texture and definition. A simple, effective Father’s Day gift, this little Fish Platinum pot is purse-friendly to boot.

Finally, after visiting the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Newcastle recently, my husband picked up a Dot-To-Dot Book by Thomas Pavitte (£10.95) in the shop. This is an icons version, but there are others too. C has really enjoyed taking some time, Haig in hand, and scribbling away. A step back from the colouring books overcrowding shops at the moment, Pavitte’s clever pad makes for a culturally cool mindful moment.

Failing all of that, I buy my dad a Toblerone every year.  Total winner.
