It’s that time of year when grey days have taken hold of body and soul, with freezing cold days, a need for winter beauty buys and a definite longing for spring.
Never a better time to stock up on pick-me-ups, I’ve put together a few current favourites.
NorthburN are a fragrance brand local to me in Northumberland, covering bath, body and home. Last week, their lovely founder Wendy sent over a diffuser and bath salts as a treat.
The NorthburN goodies I’ve sampled include their No.10 Neroli and Relax Luxury Bath Salts, which comprise relaxing lavender and vetiver essential oils. Soothing and calming, I’ve been sprinkling these salts into a bath and taking a moment to breathe.
Baths are such a powerful place to shut out the word and be still. These bath-time beauties contain Himalayan salts and are infused with cocoa butter for extra softening winter beauty elements.
NorthburN’s Revive Room Diffuser (£22) has added that candle effect to our bedroom, without the flame. Its brightening scent fills the room without overpowering, and is fresh yet gentle. I would really recommend having a look at the NorthburN range– I’m a big fan.
L’Occitane are undoubtedly an extremely stylish brand who never fail to offer a lift, from their luxurious shops to the vast array of elegant products on display. A couple of new offerings from L’Occitane include their simply gorgeous collaboration with Rifle paper Co. and the upcoming Terre De Lumiere L’Eau (£49 for 50mls) to be launched on February 1st.
Renowned for decadent and indulgent hand creams, the iconic Rose Shea Butter and classic Shea Butter (both £8) are adorned with signature Rifle Paper Co. detail. Handbag staples, especially at this time of year, I love the beautiful illustrations. The Rifle Paper Co. makeover spans across L’Occitane’s entire Shea Butter collection, encompassing soaps and balms too.
A floral twist on the much loved L’Occitane Terre De Lumiere, L’Eau bursts with notes of pink peony, bergamot, tonka bean and white musk, amongst other delightful tones. It is a light fragrance, providing grace and sophistication. And a bright winter beauty light.
Plus, if you like rose perfume, this newbie will be right up your street. A Gentle Shower Gel, Radiant Balm, Beautifying Body Milk and Perfumed Soap can be found within the Terre De Lumiere L’Eau collection too.
ESPA products radiate relaxation. One of the ways I relax before bed is to slather their Overnight Hydration Therapy across my face and neck. Just its scent calms, before awakening with super soft skin the next morning.
Later this year sees the launch of two energising ESPA skincare buys- Fitness Shower Oil (£32) and Muscle Rescue Balm (£30). Created to help revive body and mind, I’m using them as a way to kick start my fitness goals.
The cleansing Fitness Shower Oil contains a restorative and awakening blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, clove bud oil and rosemary. Warming for muscles, stimulating for the mind and cleansing for skin, this foaming shower oil will motivate and reactive a tired winter soul. I can tell you, it has done for me.
ESPA’s Muscle Rescue Balm boasts the same invigorating blend of their Fitness Shower Oil, making it a perfect pre or post workout buddy. A rich balm, it melts into the skin.
I’ve been popping this balm onto pulse points and enjoying the escape it brings. Not currently back into exercise after a poorly spell, I’m using these ESPA numbers as daily winter beauty revitalisers for now. Come spring, they will certainly enable a few runs.
Neom Organics is forever a soothing source, whether channeling calm through their candles, pillow spray or hand cream. Scent to Boost your Energy is probably the range most appropriate for January and February, owing to essential oils especially selected for this purpose.
I keep a Neom Organics Scent to Boost your Energy Hand Balm in our living room, so that walking past the pot within which it lives tempts me to take a little minute. The notion to Nourish, Breathe & Energise, is one of power and reflection. Ideal at this time of year.
The products featured were gifted to me as press samples, however all spring longing and beauty thoughts are entirely my own.
