A fortnight ago, I caught the London train, all set to enjoy a lovely day with Adriana Carlucci, founder of Ancienne Ambiance. Being their resident blogger, it was an excellent excuse for lunch and to sample the Ancienne Ambiance treatments you can find at Coco Nail Bar, Notting Hill.
Heading straight over to Portobello Road in Notting Hill brought back amazing teenage memories. When I was 14, I visited my trendy uncle and he took me to get a second ear piercing. Lo and behold, said piercing parlour is still there, a couple of doors down from Coco Nail Bar.
Lunching at Ukai, we tucked into delish sushi and tempura plates. Catching up and plotting our upcoming blog post schedule for Ancienne Ambiance’s site, it was as ever, a delight to spend a few hours with Adri. We first e-met years ago when I reviewed an Ancienne Ambiance candle, and formed a firm friendship and now working relationship. Simply thrilled to be a part of her team, this Ancienne Ambiance Coco Nail Bar treatment day was a long overdue opportunity for time together.
Heading across the road to the award winning Coco Nail Bar, this atmospheric beauty salon is stylish, bright, fun and extremely inviting. Playing host to the largest number of nail colours I’ve ever seen, you are certainly spoilt for choice and given that Friday feeling, whatever day of the week it is. I visited on a Tuesday, and basically felt ready to party. There’s a well stocked bar, and this comes in very handy for party packages. Open til late, London-based nail aficionados head to Coco after work, midweek, on weekends and also to take advantage of their amazing DJ events.
Sipping a sparkling water as I dipped my feet into a bowl full of rose petals, I’m certainly tempted to swap that for a signature cocktail next time. Adri and I sunk into the incredible massage seats and indulged in a Gel Polish Pedicure each (£67).
This treatment began with feet in said soak, which relaxed me completely. Warm water infused with Ancienne Ambiance Damask Rose Hand & Body Wash (£16 to buy separately), therapist Renee then sprinkled in Ancienne Ambiance Rosa Rose Bath Salts (£30). At this point I felt the stress melt away, and quite frankly, could have taken a nap.
While soaking up the tranquillity, I chose a coral gel polish for my toes. Our feet were then massaged using Ancienne Ambiance Signature Body Lotion (£30) and I definitely felt like I was in heaven. Renee does an incredible massage. A gorgeous, ambient setting, stunning products and lovely team of therapists – plus drinks to hand – equals the best spa treatment going. I’m hooked on Ancienne Ambiance products already, and very passionate about the brand, so to try a deluxe pedi complete with these beauties was divine.
Utterly blissed out and boasting beautiful spring toes, it was time to say goodbye to Adri and head into my next Coco Nail Bar treatment with Mari. Something I’ve been self conscious about since pregnancy, I wanted to try LipoFirm Pro on my stretchmarks. Having heard a lot of amazing reports, I was super keen to investigate. Clinically proven, the idea is that this innovative treatment increases blood flow circulation, oxygenation and improves drainage, amongst other things.
I lay down, and was presented with what I can best describe as a shower head plugged into a machine. Forgive my lack of technical language, but I’m sure you’d rather know what I meant than me attempt a fancy term. It was the 30 minute stomach and waist treatment which I had (priced at £180 per session, with other prices for different parts of the body). Mari talked me through the process, giving me the LipoFirm intel and I really enjoyed chatting with her too.
I’d like to add in that although this is a considered beauty treatment purchase, I have seen absolutely phenomenal results after just one try, and would therefore say the cost is more than worth it. You could compare LipoFirm Pro to a beauty investment.
During that half an hour, the device was rubbed along my stomach and waist in circular motions and felt hot whilst simultaneously delivering pinprick jabs, almost like static shock sensations. I’ve heard it can be a little painful, but actually I found the feeling fine, and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. I’m not exaggerating by telling you that my mum audibly gasped and my husband was equally amazed by the results.
Angry deep stretchmarks are now dramatically lessened and I think with perhaps just one or two more sessions they may not really be visible. As something that does bother me a lot, I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have found an answer when I didn’t think there was one. LipoFirm Pro tightens excess skin, firming and toning, improving cellulite and reducing fat. I can testify that this treatment is both exceptional and proven.
Coming to the end of my day, Coco’s lovely owner Tima came to meet with me. Tima had put together a goodie bag including cuticle oil and the deeply nourishing Hydro Mask which I’ve been using as a home spa visit throwback perk. I was also gifted an Ancienne Ambiance package including their Rose Body Wash & Lotion Gift Set (£42).
Whether you live in the city or are heading there soon, I’d seriously recommend a trip to Notting Hill for sampling some superior nail and beauty treatment time. In the meantime, explore a few Ancienne Ambiance favourites too online or in their Chelsea store. I will be back in London with these ladies soon, for sure.
Disclaimer: both Coco Nail Bar treatments were complimentary with a view to this blog post, all thoughts are entirely my own. As is mentioned hankering for a cocktail next time I visit. Yum.
