After spending autumn/winter in their amazing down jacket, I’ve finally shed the cosy duvet look for a lighter Helly Hansen summer rainwear option. Living in Northumberland, being prepared for the elements whatever the season is basically a must, so I was excited to explore Helly Hansen summer rainwear.
Reviewing their Welsey Trench (£160), I chose the navy number. You can also find it in Blue Water, Persian Red, Black and Ash Grey. I love the coat’s detail, especially those copper coloured buttons and integral waist tie. Creating a streamline stylish look, this Helly Hansen summer rainwear coat is going to take me right through to autumn.
A practical layer too, as well as the Helly Hansen Helly Tech Protection and Durable Water Repellency treatment, key design elements include it being:
- Fully breathable
- Lined, with quick dry lining too
- Seam sealed
The trench is a really flattering fit, and doesn’t feel like another baggy waterproof. Instead, it appears sleek and creates a timeless silhouette too. A packable hood means you have a handy extra, on drizzly frizzy hair days.
The beach is a short drive from our house and it is my safe haven, a place of therapy for the soul. Our kids run wild and we bundle fish and chips into the car before driving to the coast and devouring them. Roll on a lovely summer, and on days that are less warm/rainy, I’m all set now too.
(Outfit deets: T-shirt- Crew Clothing; khaki trousers- GAP, sunnies- MaxMara from good old TK Maxx and flip flops- Vivienne Westwood.)
Disclaimer: the Helly Hansen Welsey Trench was gifted to me for the purpose of this review. Beautiful beaches all Northumberland’s own. Sandy kids out of shot.
