Summer has definitely hit the UK with temperatures soaring this week. Should you be heading on holiday or staying closer to home, I wanted to share some of my current summer beauty must-haves.
Multi-tasking products are ideal for summer beauty picks, and this Clarins 4-Colour Pen (£28) offers options for your eyes and lips. Part of their limited edition summer makeup collection, the ultra cool applicator delivers four summery shades. The turquoise eyeliner element is my favourite, as it brightens eyes to really make them stand out. Brilliant for a little slick of eye makeup, or if you want to build up more, then line those lips and you’re good to go. Have I mentioned how amazing this product looks in your makeup bag?
Jumping from eyes and lips to legs now, hands up if you have pasty milk bottles like me? I’ve long since been a bit paranoid about my pins, and after purchasing a pair of linen shorts yesterday, I’ve vowed this is to be the case no longer. Last year I was totally hooked on Vita Liberata Body Blur HD Skin Finish (£29.50). Basically an Instagram filter for your skin, the glowing body lotion offers an instant tan which is completely natural and lasts until you wash it off. If like me, you end up with bruises and blemishes on your legs, Body Blur is the summer buy for you. Available in different shades, shea butter and aloe vera soothe and nourish too. Apply with a mitt for an even finish, whether you’re fake tan phobic (that’s me) or not.
On warmer days, the last thing you want to do is layer up with lots of makeup. A couple of weeks ago my lovely friend Adriana from Ancienne Ambiance sent over a gift of Daniel Sandler Watercolour Liquid Blush in So Pretty (£16.50). Light and brightening, this gentle blush brings a soft pop of colour to cheeks which you can build up and buy in other shades. It blends in so easily, and doesn’t clog skin or leave residue. You are simply presented with a flush of blush making your face look healthy and revitalised. Ingredients such as vitamin e and jojoba infuse skin with extra radiance too.
Finally, for somewhere between a salt spray and a mousse minus any unnecessary curl crispiness (you know what I mean), look no further than MoroccanOil Beach Wave Mousse (£17.45). Whether you have curly or straight hair, and I wear both, it is soooo good. Apply to towel-dried hair before styling and get yourself a do that is no longer flyaway and actually stays put. Easy to brush through, the mousse simply keeps your shape, and actually, has bought me another day in between blow dries. Salt-free so it doesn’t dry out your hair, the mousse provides the perfect texture. I’m obsessed.
