John Lewis & Partners Newcastle Fashion Blogger Event

Last week I headed into Newcastle, attending the John Lewis & Partners fashion blogger event, It’s How You Wear It. From the Northumberland countryside I live in, straight to my favourite city, it was also super exciting to catch up with some Instagram blogger pals.

Grabbing a coffee and catch-up with the gorgeous and ever-stylish Joanna from LoveStyle40 blog first, we had chats before arriving at John Lewis & Partners Newcastle together.

Beginning the evening in the stunning Filmore & Union, we all introduced ourselves while tucking into delicious foodie treats. Spotting my friend and fellow endo sister Pixie Tenembaum, aka Fashion Voyeur, across the room, we both squealed. Always having a naughty giggle or two, we are definitely a right pair when we get together.

I was so excited to see pal lovely Lea Ecclestone, who is also the founder of amazing women’s support group, Insta Sistas (more to follow on that soon). I eagerly awaited her modelling debut of the new collections. (spoiler: we were in for a treat- see below pic.. all the heart eyes)

John Lewis & Partners Newcastle Stylists Emma, Jolie and Josta put together different looks spanning across daytime to evening wear, with both John Lewis Partners and bloggers modelling. One of my favourite outfits was my girl Lea styled by Josta above, in her amazing sparkly outfit.

Here are the details:

AND/OR (who I adore) Disco Slogan Glitter Tee (£25), French Connection Sequin Midi Skirt (£90), Ted Baker Lizia Minimal Biker Jacket (£329) and John Lewis & Partners Ankle Boots (£99). Doesn’t she look incredible?

Another AND/OR Tee  (£25) for Jolie’s ‘layer up’ outfit as modelled by Emily, joined classic KIN Black Skinny Jeans (£55) and these amazing AND/OR Paquita Leopard Boots (£129) which Joanna had already pointed out to me earlier in the evening. The outfit was also later layered with a Hush sweat for extra warmth. Casual cool, for sure.

Because the boots were a focal point for me, and an easy nod to this season’s massive animal print trend, I also wanted to show you how Emma had clashed the pattern with on-point check too. A ‘work smart’ look modelled by Hayley, I love the Pure Collection Single Breasted Check Coat (£225) and WEEKEND by JL Modern Animal Print Scarf (£30) in particular. Smart basics also layered up are: JL & P Chambray Safari Denim Look Shirt (£45), JL & P Crew Neck Sweater in Navy (£75) and the AND/OR Venice Beach Boyfriend Jeans (£89).

The event was a fabulous get together, and a great insight into how versatile this season’s pieces are. Plus, we were serenaded by the absolutely incredible Vicky Sandison, The Lady Sings. I went home with a gorgeous goodie bag and lots of ideas for this AW18 looks to wear for all occasions.
