When my sister and I were younger, we used to send each other Valentine’s Day cards. Hers were the epitome of artistic creations, while mine, well… think stick men and your hopes may have aimed too high.
Remembering our lovely tradition, I sent Sally an early (and bought) card last week. Because Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a cliche. I just love the ones I love. Those who make me smile and hold my hand. And my sister tops that list.
The photo above is of us playing dress-up in our Granny’s bedroom. We may actually have been pretending to get married. We used to play shoe shops too, lining up heels that matched handbags (oh, the glamour) and writing out pretend cheques. Celebrating that bond means more than those tacky teddies which can sometimes be associated with the day of love.
Talking of celebrating timeless Valentine’s Day pairings, L’Occitane have once more teamed up with Rifle Paper Co. Their stunning limited edition Mon Amour collection covers the Shea Butter range, and the illustrations are beautiful as always.
From little lifts like the Rose Shea Butter Hand Cream (£8) or a Rose Shea Balm (£9) to the Shea Ultra Rich Body Cream (£22), grab some gorgeous indulgence.
L’Occitane shea goodies are pure luxury. They soothe and hydrate, adding simple TLC to your handbag, desk or bedside table. And yes, I do slather myself with body cream at work. The joys of freelancing from home.
Talking of love, with all the heart eye emojis included, Sal is having a little one soon. I’ve been spoiling her with treats because it’s such an exciting time and I want her to feel super special.
She may well find one of these cute hand creams making their way into that hospital bag…
